Is This the Official Vanuatu Citizenship by Investment Website?

No. The official website is that of the Vanuatu Citizenship Office and Commission, at vancitizenship.gov.vu. The Office handles citizenship applications and the Citizenship Commission, a constitutional body, decides them and issues citizenship certificates. Vanuatu CBI is a private, independent team that prepares applications with clients; we have no affiliation with the Office or the Commission and do not speak for either.

That distinction is worth knowing for your own protection. The Citizenship Office warns about fake websites pretending to be official, and an official-looking logo or a national flag proves nothing, so test anyone you deal with, including us, against the official sources:

  • the website address ends in .gov.vu;
  • the agent's exact name is on the Office's Designated Agents list and not on its "Cancelled Agents" page of those it does not recognize;
  • the Office confirms what you were told when you call it on (+678) 33365;
  • every government payment is planned in US dollars through official channels.

Passports are not issued by the Citizenship Office at all: the ordinary passport comes from the Immigration and Passport Services once citizenship has been granted, and the Office has stated publicly that it does not issue passports of any kind.

Which Vanuatu Citizenship Program Is Open in 2026

For new applicants with no family ties to Vanuatu, the main investment route open today, often called Vanuatu economic citizenship, is the Development Support Program, set up under section 13E of the Citizenship Act [Cap 112] and run under Order No. 33 of 2019 as amended by Order No. 39 of 2020. The minimum price under the published schedule is US$130,000 for one person and US$150,000 for a married couple, plus the due diligence and application fees. The Capital Investment Immigration Plan (CIIP) was suspended in March 2025; industry sources report it reopened in May 2025 under amended rules, but no official notice confirming the current terms has been published, so we confirm its status and amounts at the assessment. The Real Estate Option Program, which requires buying property in a government-approved project, has run since July 2021; whether it is taking files is checked at assessment.

The program has firm limits: any criminal conviction bars approval under the DSP Regulations, the passport has needed a visa for the Schengen Area and the United Kingdom since 2023, and citizenship does not on its own change where you are tax resident. We set these out before any fee is paid.

To find out whether the DSP fits your family, ask for the free assessment. Tell us who would apply, their ages, where each adult has lived, any past criminal case or visa refusal and broadly where the money comes from; no documents are needed yet, and we reply in writing with the government amounts, our fee and the records to gather first.
